Gilbert Cook
Advanced piano lessons
In the lineage of Franz Liszt, through Marie Jaëll and Eduardo del Pueyo.
For advanced amateurs and professional pianists wishing to develop their pianistic technique and musicality.
The path
Gilbert Cook studied in Brussels in the class of Eduardo del Pueyo to learn the method of Marie Jaëll, who was a pupil of Franz Liszt. Marie Jaëll analysed Franz Liszt's playing, touch and sonorities and turned it into a method.
Many pianists studied this method with Eduardo del Pueyo, several of whom won prizes at the Queen Elisabeth Competition of Belgium.
Gilbert Cook also studied in Paris with Antoine Geoffroy-Dechaume for baroque music, then two years in America and ten years in Geneva with Harry Datyner, who was a pupil of Edwin Fischer.
“A piano teacher for over 40 years, I still have the passion and the pleasure of teaching and supporting my students as they grow.”Gilbert Cook
The technology of Franz Liszt
Gilbert Cook's teaching is based on the “technology” — the methods of application — of Franz Liszt.
